LOS ANGELES – (INT) – In Southern California basketball news, the NBA season is over for both the Clippers and the Lakers.

The Dallas Mavericks sent the Clippers packing in their playoff series Friday.

It's the end of the downtown LA era for the Clippers as they will play in their new home in the 2024-25 NBA season.

The Lakers’ season has been capped with the end of a 2-year stint for coach Darvin Ham. He was dismissed Friday.

The Lakers have struggled with six coaches in the past 13 years. None has lasted more than three seasons.

The Lakers are asking themselves how to come back from yet another short, failed coaching stint.
