ONTARIO – (INT) – A man with a history of domestic violence and an innocent motorist are dead in the wake of a series of incidents Sunday (May 5th) in Ontario.

According to a police account, a 911 caller reported that his sister’s ex-boyfriend, Orland Roman, 39, of San Bernardino, was outside their residence on Maple Street threatening to come inside the home unless the sister came out.

When confronted by officers, Roman suddenly sped off in his vehicle initiating a chase headed the wrong way on Freeway 60 eventually causing a multi-vehicle crash that fatally injured one motorist. A foot chase ended when police confronted and fatally shot the gunman.

The only other injuries were to another motorist involved in the freeway collision.

Killed in the freeway collision was Amanda Powers, 44, of Ontario.
