RIVERSIDE – (INT) – A Riverside County supervisor is giving a ‘heads up’ on a new sales tax proposal to build freeway / highway / roadway improvements that could appear on the November ballot.

Kevin Jeffries says the ‘massive’ plan for his county is likely to be approved in June by the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC).

Jeffries says there is currently a “do not build it” thought process now in place “with the hopes that those who do move here will instead walk, ride a bike, or take a bus or train to work.” He says “while some will, the vast majority don’t, won’t or can’t. Hence our freeway parking lots,” the supervisor said in his monthly newsletter.
