Reported California hate crimes dip
OAKLAND – (INT) – Some reported hate crimes in California have declined while others are increasing.

The state’s latest hate crime report found a 7-point-1 percent decrease from 2022 to 2023. But, crimes against LGBTQ+, Jewish, and Muslim communities increased. Overall hate crimes across the state in 2023 reached one-thousand-970.

Attorney Genel Rob Bonta is urging law enforcement to recommit themselves to taking action.
