Summer getaways beckon, rising gas prices follow suit SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Summer get-aways are putting more motorists on the road. And, the slowing downshift in gas prices is the result.
After a decline of almost two months, pump prices are showing signs of rising. In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $4.71 compared to the statewide average of $4.80 and the nationwide price of $3.50. The Automobile Club reports local gas supplies appear to be tightening again. “The Auto Club is projecting that more than five million Southern Californians are starting Independence Day holiday getaways. Spokesman Doug Shupe expects “fuel demand is likely helping to push up pump prices.” Story Date: July 13, 2024
