Fate of county buildings sealed
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Remains of two county buildings that have stood in downtown San Bernardino for sixty years are coming down.

The former Hall of Records and the adjacent Public Health Building near Third Street and North Mountain View Avenue were severely damaged by a Father’s Day fire in 2022. There were no injuries.

Fire remediation and environmental and hazardous materials abatement took two years to complete before demolition could begin. Taking down the buildings is not expected to be completed until 2025.

The buildings are being demolished for an expanded parking lot.
