Another spike in the heat comes amid health warnings
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Health warnings are being upgraded as the most intense heat of early summer takes another aim at the Inland Empire’s Metro area.

Outdoor activity should be limited, remain indoors in air-conditioned buildings, wear loose and light-colored clothing, take cool showers and drink lots of water. Avoid drinking alcohol or liquids containing high amounts of sugar. If you must go outside, avoid the hottest hours of the day, wear sunscreen and take numerous breaks.

Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Geoffrey Leung urges everyone “Take this heat seriously, even if you’re healthy,” Leung said.

Temperatures are predicted to reach 110 degrees in western Riverside County, and up to 122 degrees in the Coachella Valley. The latest spike in temperatures is expected to last through Thursday with only slight relief for the weekend.
