Skywatchers plan for meteor shower
JOSHUA TREE - (INT) - Skywatchers will be staking out their favorite spots to view the Perseids Meteor Shower during the coming nights. It’s one of the year’s most visible meteor showers.

Many will set their sights on the Joshua Tree National Park. Officials are expecting a traffic surge peaking between August 10-12th. Park rangers advise to expect lots of company similar to the Aurora Borealis sighting in March.

Astronomers advise the Perseids peaked Monday night, with a first quarter moon. As a result, the visibility of the showers was significantly dimmed.
