UC breaking admissions records; President to step down
The University of California announced Wednesday (July 31) that it has admitted its largest and most diverse class to date breaking admissions records for the fall quarter.

UC Riverside will admit 51,345 students. More than 36-thousand are California residents and just over 500 are international students. Just over 7-thousand are listed as transfer students.

Meantime, UC President Dr. Michael Drake announced Wednesday he will step down as UC President the end of the 2024-25 academic year. “My plan is to take a sabbatical, after which I will return to the faculty,” Drake said.

His time with the University began five decades ago as a medical student at UC San Francisco.
