Where are the new apartments?
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – As the Inland Empire struggles with its growing pains, construction of new apartments is trying to keep pace.

The Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metro area can expect 1,915 new rentals by the end of December. Notably, Murrieta alone will account for approximately 30% of the 575 apartments expected for this year. That puts the Inland Empire 10th among California's leading areas for construction this year.

Nearly half of the new construction across the Golden State in 2024 will be in the Los Angeles (8,924 units) and San Francisco (5,078 units) metro areas. San Jose and San Diego will also welcome around 3,300 new units each.

• Where else in California is construction speeding up in the next 5 years? By 2028, the Sacramento and Santa Rosa metro areas are also set to add more rentals between 2024 and 2028— 3,500 units and 2,800 units, respectively.
