Suspect in nudist ranch murders charged
REDLANDS – (INT) – The suspect in the slayings of two people at the Olive Dell Nudist Ranch is facing a double murder complaint.

Redlands police say that Michael Sparks has admitted killing two people and has threatened suicide. Two of Sparks relatives were the first to implicate the 62-year-old neighbor of Daniel and Stephanie Menard, both in the mid 70s. They were last seen August 24th and were reported missing the next day.

Police breached Sparks’ home Thursday (August 29th) with an armored vehicle and found him and the dismembered bodies of two people several hours later.

A crime scene investigation is winding down as the coroner completes the autopsies to determine the causes of death and positively identify the bodies.

Charges against Sparks were announced Tuesday (September 3rd).

Investigators have declined to comment on a motive or to explain why Sparks is suspected.
