INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – More people were looking for work across the Inland Empire during August than any month in nearly two years.

The Employment Development Department said that boosted the jobless rate for Riverside and San Bernardino counties to six percent from a revised 5-point-9 percent in July.

Over the past 12 months, 25-hundred manufacturing jobs were lost. Private education and health services gained the most.

At 5.3 %, California has the 4th highest unemployment rate in the U.S.
