School districts cope with declining enrollment INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) - As another school year gets underway, local schools districts are weighing the consequences of declining enrollment.
It has slipped 2-point-1 percent over the past 10 years in the Inland Empire. That compares to 6-point-3 percent statewide and a steep 15-percent in the greater Los Angeles area. The State Department of Finance predicts an enrollment decline in the Inland Empire over the coming 10 years of 5-point-6 percent and statewide at twelve percent. All of the counties with projected enrollment growth are in the central and northern regions of the state, and many are less populous and more rural. Story Date: November 2, 2024
