Riverside signs new fire chief
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – A 29-year veteran in the fire service will lead the Riverside City Fire Department (RFD).

Steve McKinster was chosen from a field of 37 candidates to succeed Michael Moore who has been fire chief for the past 10 years and is retiring.

McKinster is being elevated from his post as Deputy Chief for Administration and has served in the RFD for 25 years.

City Manager Mike Futrell said “His commitment to Riverside, his integrity, and his understanding of this community’s needs set him apart as our department’s next chief.”
