Who do you trust more, Sacramento or Washington?
SACRAMENTO – (INT) - Californians’ trust in both the state and federal governments has been relatively low. Californians have more trust in Sacramento than in Washington.

Californians tells the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) Californians they trust the state government most of the time (37%), while 31% say the same of the federal government in Washington (4% just about always; 27% most of the time).

There is a clear political divide around this trust, with two-thirds of Democrats expressing faith in California’s government compared to a third of independents and less than one in ten Republicans.

Across regions, trust in Sacramento and in Washington is highest among San Francisco residents (50% state, 36% federal) and lowest in the Central Valley.

After the November elections, will the trust ratio change? The country will gain a new presidential administration and California will gain a new US senator and possible new US representatives and state law makers.
