Felony crime takes break in San Bernardino ![]() SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Violent crime in San Bernardino is on the decline this year, an improvement Police Chief Darren Goodman attributes to a new alliance with the California Highway Patrol.
Figures issued by the police department show homicides are down 33 percent, aggravated assaults 17 percent and armed robberies have fallen 15 percent so far this year compared to the same period in 2023. Chief Goodman says his department will maintain the strategic partnership with the CHP. His department will “strengthen patrols in high-traffic areas, increase rapid response capabilities, and engage in targeted crime prevention operations.” "Our community deserves to feel safe and secure, and we are committed to sustaining this positive momentum," said Chief Goodman.
