Pot growers try to hide in state parks
ANZA – (INT) - Another illegal marijuana harvest is underway and authorities are moving in to intercept the crop.

Growers are setting up operations in and near California State Parks. Special enforcement teams have undertaken 16 operations removing thousands of pot plants and arresting seven individuals. Numerous environmental crimes related to water diversion and water pollution were also documented. At California’s largest state park, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, nearly 47-hundred marijuana plans were seized and destroyed.

“Illegal cannabis cultivation poses a serious threat to California's natural resources, and we continue to make progress identifying and eradicating grow sites in and around State Parks,” said State Parks Director Armando Quintero.
