Looking at ourselves: Who owes what? INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario area is one of the nation’s most debt-ridden.
Lending Tree analyzed how much personal debt in each of the 50 largest metro areas. The Inland Empire was nineth-highest. Mortgage debt was excluded. Ninety-seven percent of the IE’s residents carry non-mortgage debt and owe an average of $41,752. By categories, the single biggest debt is for auto loans is an average of nearly 15-thousand-dollars. That’s followed by student loans, credit card debt and personal loans. Nationwide, Americans hold an average of $37,827 in nonmortgage debt.
