Mother Nature keeps Southland on weather see-saw
INLAND EMPIRE - (INT) - The Santa Ana wind season is building amid fears of a worsening wildfire danger.

KEY POINTS
• Santa Ana winds and critical fire danger is tapering taper off through Friday morning.
• Most Red Flag Warnings will expire Friday but are likely to return next week
• Exceptionally low humidity is recovering with seasonable temperatures through the weekend and into next week.

Thursday’s peak winds rivaled those of the previous day reaching hurricane-force at some mountain and foothill locations. Even in the valleys, there were significant gusts including 53 miles an hour at Ontario International Airport and in Riverside.

Going forward, warmer days with weaker winds Friday and Saturday. Cooling will begin to spread inland on Sunday and Monday as onshore flow returns.

Night and morning low clouds may return to the coast on Saturday and continue into Tuesday morning. Then dry and warmer takes over the middle of next week with an offshore flow.
