Burning warehouse batteries brought haz-mat response RIVERSIDE – (INT) - It took a four-alarm response to quell a fire early Thursday in a Riverside warehouse.
Fire fighters from as far away as Corona found the flames coming from inside the large building on Meridian Parkway. CalFire mounted a hazardous materials response when it was determined that small lithium-ion batteries for hand held power tools were burning. Meridian Parkway was closed from Alessandro Boulevard on the north end to Cactus Avenue on the south. County Environmental Health monitored the column of smoke for air quality.
