$18 an hour minimum wage fails
SACRAMENTO – (INT) - Supporters of an 18-dollar-an hour minimum wage in California have admitted defeat.

Although Proposition 32 came up short, they said in a statement Tuesday that their campaign “has laid essential groundwork for future wage advocacy, rallying millions of Californians and reinforcing the urgent need for fair wages.”

Because of a “cost of living crisis, the fight for economic justice in California is far from over”, they said.

Although results of the election have not been certified, Proposition 32 was favored by 49.5% of California voters.
