County pledges better winter storm response
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Mindful of two previous winters that buried mountain communities in record snowfall, the San Bernardino County Roads Department has expanded its fleet of snow removal equipment.

An assortment of loaders, blowers and thirty pieces of heavy machinery are at the ready to respond to winter storms.

Officials say road crews have taken special training to maximize the efficiency of the new equipment.

The equipment is ‘staged’ for more immediate response.

Beyond winter situations, the new equipment will be utilized in response to other emergencies such as wildfires, floods, mudslides and earthquakes.
