Countyline Canyon Crest Fire squelched JURUPA VALLEY – (INT) – A Thanksgiving wildfire that seared 254 acres in the Jurupa Hills was fully contained on Sunday (December 1st).
The Canyon Crest Fire broke out at the south edge of Fontana. Pushed by moderate winds, it quickly spread into Riverside County. An evacuation warning was issued and a care and reception center was set up at Jurupa Valley High School. The warning was lifted on Friday. The fire was mapped at 254 acres but there was no property damage. Its cause and origin remain under investigation, CalFire said. Story Date: December 7, 2024
