More power to the Inland Empire BLYTHE – (INT) - The Desert Quartzite Solar facility, located near Blythe in eastern Riverside County, is now fully operational.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) says the plant produces enough energy to power 120-thousand homes and also has 150 megawatts of battery storage. In the past four years, the BLM has approved 45 renewable energy projects on public lands, mostly solar and geothermal. Combined, they have the capacity to crank out more than 33 gigawatts – or enough to power more than 15 million homes. Story Date: January 21, 2025
