SoCal Edison implements power shut-offs
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Thousands of Inland Empire homes have been impacted by the shutdown of power as a safety measure to prevent wildfires caused by overhead power lines during the current windstorm.

Southern California Edison is saying that service will be restored “as conditions permit”. The winds are predicted to lessen but not end.

Some residents have been in the dark for as long as three days. Many are unable to power up their cell phones and don’t have landline service.

There are other concerns:
• Lighting: Use battery-powered flashlights instead of candles to avoid fire hazards.
• Carbon Monoxide Safety: Avoid using outdoor heating or cooking equipment indoors, as it can emit toxic gases.
• Traffic Safety: Treat intersections with non-functioning traffic lights as four-way stops.
