Price gougers add to woes of fire victims
LOS ANGELES – (INT) – More than 200 price gouging warnings l have been issued in the wake of the Los Angeles fire storm. Most have been sent to hotels and landlords.

Sate officials say that reports of price gouging are ramping up as the Los Angeles area reels under the aftermath of the destructive fires.

In spite of a State of Emergency, there are reports of fraud, scams, and unsolicited low-ball offers on property.

The California Department of Justice (DOJ) has opened active investigations and says it’s responding with deployment of resources to Los Angeles County.

Attorney General Rob Bonta says complaints should be submitted to local law enforcement or oag.ca.gov/report or by calling a hotline at (800) 952-5225.
