Poll: Californians pessimistic on top issues
SAN FRANCISCO – (INT) – Californians are most likely to say political extremism or threats to democracy is the most important problem facing the United States. That’s the biggest issue that has emerged in a statewide survey by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC).

Only thirty-three percent of California voters approve of President Trump’s job performance, similar to the start of his first term.

Last fall, the economy was the top concern of Californians.

In some other key findings, seven in ten Californians believe that immigrants are a benefit to the state, an increase from one year ago.

Inland Empire residents weighed in on other issues. Less than half (53%) Forty-five percent of likely voters approve of how the California Legislature is handling its job.

Forty-six percent approve of Governor Newsom and the legislature.

The PPIC survey was done from February 4th to the 11th and results released Wednesday night (February 26th).
