Measles appears in Southland
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Measles may have arrived in Southern California.

According to the LA County Department of Public Health, one case of measles has been confirmed in Los Angeles County.

As of the most recent count, a total of 93 measles cases have been reported across the US so far during the current outbreak. That is likely to increase given the ongoing measles outbreaks in Texas and New Mexico.

In addition to Southern California pharmacies and doctor’s offices, Albertsons, Vons & Pavilions pharmacies can administer the Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) vaccine in store.
• No appointment necessary. Customers can walk in to talk a pharmacist and request a MMR vaccine.
• Pharmacists can vaccinate anyone ages 3+.
• Post-exposure prophylaxis is available for adults within 3 days of exposure.
