CHINO – (INT) – Multiple investigations involving at least three police agencies have been mounted in the wake of the shooting of a domestic violence suspect.

It began early Monday (March 10th) in Chino when Jose Martinez of Rialto attempted to abduct his girlfriend. She was beaten but escaped. Nearly 12 hours later, Martinez turned up in Fontana touching off a police pursuit. Two police cars were rammed.

As Martinez exited his vehicle an hour later in Montclair, he took a shooting stance while pointing toward officers what turned out to be a portable battery pack, (see photos). The 47-year-old Rialto man was shot and critically wounded.
