Future of wild county-line burros managed
COLTON – (INT) – A course has been set to manage the future of wild burros that roam the hills along the county line from Colton to Redlands.

San Bernardino County officials have struck a non-financial contract with DonkeyLand to provide rescue and relocation services for injured, sick and orphaned burros that may pose a risk to themselves or the community. DonkeyLand may relocate burros unfit for release to its sanctuary, where each burro will receive lifelong care and protection.

As a population control measure, a second contract provides funds to DonkeyLand for castration of 100 burros a year.

“We’re thrilled to continue to work with San Bernardino County to support our local burros,” said DonkeyLand founder Amber LeVonne.
