Low pressure keeps Southland cool and breezy
SOUTHLAND - (INT) - Rapidly changing weather becomes mainstay of spring.

KEY POINTS
• Temperature cool to below average by late week.
• Chances for rain and mountain snow Thursday and Friday.

As a cooling trend makes itself felt, temperatures may slip below normal with rain chances increasing Thursday and Friday.

The temperature shift is the result of two fast-moving low pressure systems. The first could bring some light showers across the coastal basin Thursday morning. Strong westerly winds are expected late Wednesday through Thursday. The follow-up system could bring some additional periods of rain and mountain snow late Thursday throughout the day Friday.
Coastal residents will be the least likely for much sunshine as a deep marine layer impacts the foothills to the coast where morning drizzle is likely.

After the two systems slide off to the east, warmer and drier weather will move in the Easter weekend.
