Animal pet adoption center and shelter expands
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – San Bernardino is ramping up for the growing need of unwanted pets.

A satellite animal shelter and pet adoption center is being expanded. The San Bernardino Animal Services Department has taken over took over shelter and adoption operations for five neighboring cities – Colton, Fontana, Grand Terrace, Loma Linda, and Rialto.

The new Shelter and Pet Adoption Center will house up to 150 cats and 80 dogs, as well as other small animals under the Department’s care, such as rabbits, and reptiles.

The San Bernardino City Council approved a lease for the 7,125 square foot former County Health facility late in 2024 with the property owner, Casa Ramona Inc.
