Southern Californians adapt to yo-yo temperatures
SOUTHLAND - (INT) - More erratic springtime weather ahead.

KEY POINTS
• A significant cooling trend Monday into Tuesday.
• Gusty westerly winds in the mountains and deserts peaking Monday into Tuesday.
• The marine layer returns Monday, deepening Tuesday - patchy drizzle possible Tuesday with light rain showers for the coastal mountain slopes.

A cool down will displace last week’s record-setting heat. After 2-days in triple digits, Sunday’s temperatures across the Inland Empire retreated back into the 90s in all areas except the lower deserts.

A distant storm system will make itself felt in Southern California as winds beginning whipping across the mountains and deserts. Winds will peak late Monday into Tuesday before diminishing Tuesday night. Wind gusts of 45-55+ mph are likely in wind-prone locations along the desert slopes of the mountains and through the mountain passes. Blowing dust may obscure visibility.

There is a wind advisory for the mountains and deserts until early Wednesday.

The changes will be most notable in temperature. A few degrees will be pared off Monday’s highs but falling numbers will be more drastic on Tuesday. Mid-week warming will put more degrees back on the board to round out the week.
