RIVERSIDE – (INT) - The expansion of warehousing in one part of Riverside won’t happen.

The March Joint Powers Authority (JPA) Commission voted unanimously on May 12th to deny the proposed West Campus Upper Plateau Project.

County Supervisor Jose Medina said the decision reflects months of public input and a shared desire to shape a future that prioritizes public health, quality of life, and sustainable growth. Rejecting the project emphasizes the importance of community engagement and thoughtful, balanced development.

“Development done well can uplift a region, but it must be balanced, forward-thinking, and responsive to community needs,” he said in a statement issued Tuesday.
