Motorists fill up amid falling gasoline prices ![]() SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Gasoline prices for the Memorial Day holiday could set the pace for those planning an early summer get-away.
87 octane gas is averaging $4.87 a gallon in California and $4.66 in Riverside. Locally, that price is 38-cents below a year ago. The Automobile Club of Southern California notes Southern Californians are paying the lowest pump prices since 2021. “Gas prices are backing off from a price spike earlier this month caused by a Northern California refinery fire and some unplanned refinery outages,” the Auto Club’s Doug Shupe said. According to Oil Price Information Service, those supply issues have been resolved and refineries have increased their gasoline production. Story Date: June 11, 2025
