UCR Extension Building demolished, SoCal OASIS™ Park follows
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – The UC Riverside Extension building is no more.

The 5-story building on University Avenue was originally built as a Holiday Inn hotel in 1968. After its purchase by UCR, it was expanded and converted it to house Extension offices and classes.

UCR Extension vacated the building in 2022 and shifted to remote work and programs from its current location across the street at University Village.

Going forward, the 3-acre site will be developed into the SoCal OASIS™ Park. It will serve as a hub for research and economic development with laboratories, startup space, and training facilities.

Construction will start later this summer.
