Hemet moves to reverse blight, shutters Diamond Inn Hotel
HEMET – (INT) – Hemet Police Chief Michael Arellano has struck a blow against blight and criminal activity in his city by shutting down the Diamond Inn Hotel.

An investigation turned up numerous violations of health and safety codes and city ordinances. As a result, the entire hotel has been deemed uninhabitable, and all occupants were required to vacate the premises. As a result, Chief Arellano warned in an announcement that there may be more people congregating along Florida Avenue and around nearby businesses.

“City leadership is committed to fostering a safer, cleaner, and more vibrant environment for residents and businesses alike. This action is a significant step in the right direction toward improving the quality of life in our community,” he said.

City Net was asked to provide resources and assistance to individuals affected by the hotel’s closure.
