Riverside County opens annual budget hearings
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Public hearings on the proposed 2025-26 Riverside County budget open Monday.

It’s a $10 billion spending plan for the fiscal year beginning July 1st. Proposed appropriations are up 4.2%, primarily from increased labor costs associated with union contracts, increased medical contribution subsidies to resolve recruitment and retention challenges, and increased project cost funded with state and federal revenue increases.

Incoming revenue is projected to increase by $354.7 million, or 3.8% over the current fiscal year. The revenue increase is mostly attributed to an increase in taxes and charges for services.

Budget hearings may resume on Tuesday, June 10th.
