Sheriff pledges safety and security
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Civil unrest in Los Angeles has not spread to the Inland Empire and local authorities are offering assurances it will be dealt with if it happens.

In a statement issued Sunday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said it “will ensure every person’s constitutional right to protest, and will also exercise a zero-tolerance policy for any criminal activity. Any person breaking the law, encouraging or inciting this behavior, or assaulting or obstructing law enforcement will be arrested, jailed, and prosecuted”.

The sheriff’s department said it “is committed to the safety and the security of our Riverside County residents and their property. Protesting will be protected; criminal activity will be dealt with swiftly and decisively,” the statement said.

San Bernardino County officials said Sunday a private correctional facility contracted to the federal government, located in our county may be utilized to house ICE detainees.
