CORONA – (INT) – It’s taken more than 2-years, but relief for commuters on the 91 freeway is here.

The new 71/91 interchange at the top of Santa Ana Canyon at the west edge of Corona opened on Monday, June 23rd. The fly-over of the eastbound 91 to the northbound 71 has been under construction since early 2023.

The centerpiece is a 25-hundred foot long connector bridge over the 91 and the Santa Ana River. The Green River Road eastbound 91 on-ramp has been realigned and an auxiliary lane constructed for improved access to the new connector.

An existing loop connector of the eastbound 91 to the north 71 will be permanently closed.
