Triple digit heat takes aim at Southern California ![]() INLAND EMPIRE - (INT) - High pressure is expanding over the Desert Southwest and will build into Southern California Tuesday through mid-week. That translates into hotter temperatures and a brief heat wave.
Computer models show the area of high pressure peaking over the Southland Wednesday through at least Friday. The warmest weather is likely by Wednesday and Thursday with high temperatures increasing to 5 to 10 degrees above normal in all areas except the beaches. There is an advisory through Sunday for surf of 4-7 feet and strong rip currents. Summer monsoon moisture will begin to move into the region by Tuesday and Wednesday but not enough for any thunderstorms. The increasing humidity will make the hot weather feel a bit more oppressive, especially across the lower deserts. Only subtle cooling is likely later in the week. Story Date: July 7, 2025
