PALM SPINGS – (INT) - The Plaza Theater entertainment and cultural center grand opening and ribbon cutting celebrated the 89th anniversary of the theater’s grand opening.

The theatre will serve as an important community hub, providing a range of benefits for underserved citizens by fostering social cohesion, promoting inclusivity, and offering accessible educational and creative outlets.

Palm Springs Mayor Ron deHarte sees the Plaza Theatre as a cornerstone of cultural life in the desert resort.

It had fallen into disrepair and had been closed since 2014. The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre Foundation conducted a multi-year fundraising campaign to provide funds to fully restore the iconic theatre and adapt it to future needs.
