Riverside’s General Plan includes climate action decisions
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Riverside planners are pushing ahead with a detailed update of the city’s General Plan which serves as a blueprint for all land-use decisions.

Not only are zoning decisions at stake, but the final document will have a Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. It will become the framework to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build resilience against climate change. The planning process is likely to take two and a half years and will conclude in early 2027.

City leaders are reaching out for community input to develop Riverside’s vision and priorities. A community workshop is planned Thursday (10/9) at La Sierra University.
