Drones find a new application in aerial firefighting
A semi-autonomous fire suppression drone, built here in California, is designed to supercharge firefighters and revolutionize responses to vegetation fires.
San Bernardino County fire officials have gotten a demonstration of the Seneca unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The Argo-1 is equipped with advance technology, autonomous flight, thermal tracking, precision targeting, high-powered suppression capabilities and can carry 12 gallons of retardants. Officials believe the UAV’s advanced technology and rapid response can keep small fires from getting out of hand. Story Date: October 28, 2025
