Poll: California voters give nod to Prop 50, thumbs down to Trump
SAN FRANCISCO – (INT) – There’s a record level of voter interest in Tuesday's Proposition 50, which would temporarily change how the state draws congressional district maps.
A statewide survey by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) has found a majority of California's likely voters. Fifty-six percent say they will vote in favor of the statewide ballot measure. Along party lines, majorities of Democrats (84%) and independents (55%) plan to vote yes, while most Republicans (89%) say they’ll vote no. The survey also found approval ratings for President Donald Trump remain low, as does support for some of his most prominent policies, including immigration. Californians identify political extremism or threats to democracy as the most important problem facing the nation. Story Date: November 6, 2025
