Republicans queue up for Congressional battle
CORONA – (INT) – The Inland Empire’s longest-serving member of Congress is determined to keep his seat despite voter-approval of Proposition 50 which has reshaped the 41st District.

In statement Wednesday (November 5th), Republican Ken Calvert announced he will run in the new, 40th District which includes portions of Riverside and Orange counties. The Corona Republican pointed out “I’ve lived here my entire life and already represent the majority of this district in Congress. I look forward to helping President Trump to deliver lower taxes, to bring down housing costs, secure our borders, make our streets safe and bring real results for the families of this district for years to come,” Calvert said.

The redrawn district is likely to pit Calvert and Republican Rep. Young Kim, who represents the current 40th Congressional District.

Kim has survived previous gerrymandering to her seat, winning reelection in 2022 when her seat in California’s 39th District was redrawn into the 40th District.
