LOS ANGELES – Actor Kiefer Sutherland was arrested after a physical altercation with a ride-share driver, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities told The Hollywood Reporter that they responded to a call about an assault involving a ride-share driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue at around 12:15 a.m. on Monday. LAPD officers said the suspect entered a ride-share vehicle, assaulted the driver and made criminal threats toward them. Neither person involved sustained injuries, according to police.

Sutherland was later identified as the suspect and was arrested at the scene for making criminal threats, in violation of California Penal Code section 422. LAPD said this is an ongoing investigation.

The actor was released from jail on a $50,000 bond later on Monday, NBC News reported. His first court date is set for Feb. 2nd.
