Riverside may debut personal delivery devices (PDD’s)
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Riverside is considering the operation of personal delivery devices (PDDs).

Recently, DoorDash Labs brought Dot, a cutting-edge autonomous delivery robot, to Riverside for a demonstration. Backers say robotics and smart mobility technology could accelerate local commerce and enhance services for residents and small businesses.

A City Council committee is supporting an ordinance that will guide a program for the safe and responsible operation of personal delivery devices (PDDs) on public streets, sidewalks, and pedestrian areas.

City councilman Steve Hemenway says Riverside is “committed to setting a modern regulatory framework that encourages responsible technology use and aligns with Riverside’s values of public safety and economic vitality.”
