INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Communities across Riverside and San Bernardino counties honored the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday (January 19th).

In Riverside, clear, sunny weather bathed the 31st annual MLK Walk-A-Thon. It stepped off from Bordwell Park enroute to the downtown public library. A Community Birthday Celebration followed at the Park Avenue Baptist Church.

San Bernardino offered a noontime parade along West 4th Street with actor Brian Hooks as grand marshal. The theme was “The Power of Unity: Together We Rise.”

In Ontario, it was the MLK Unity Breakfast at the Toyota Arena.

Prayer breakfasts were held at the Entrepreneur High School in Highland and the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula.

In Redlands on Tuesday, a Peace Walk begins at 11am at the Memorial Chapel.
