BAKERSFIELD — 59 vehicles were involved in a crash on Highway 99 on southbound lanes near Earlimart Saturday morning. The crashes caused an hours-long closure.

CHP said 10 people sustained minor to moderate injuries. No deaths were reported.

Witnesses reported extremely dense fog in the area at the time of the crash, with visibility estimated between 50 to 60 feet, according to the CHP.

Nine people were taken to four different hospitals for injuries ranging from minor to major.
